Edox celebrates its 130th birthday this year. To mark the occasion, Edox has unveiled a modern interpretation to its Geoscope watch launched in 1971. This iconic model has been hailed as the first authentic WorldTimer wristwatch in history.

The original model was a bold and eye-catching watch for the time, and became a favorite among collectors.

The new Chopard Replica has a similar style to the original, but some changes are noticeable. The stainless steel case of this newcomer measures 46mm, which is 4mm bigger than the original model from 1970. The case looks a little different. The new case is more refined, even though it still features the signature rotating octadecagonal bezel. It is nice to have a case that has an integrated bracelet. However, if the bracelet needs to be replaced in the future, it could cause problems.

The case is topped with sapphire anti-reflective crystal,Chopard Replica and is designed to withstand water pressure up to 200 meters (666 feet). A colorful dial is hidden beneath the sapphire front glass. It shows the globe as seen from the North Pole. Original model displayed the Earth map as seen from the South Pole.

The dial has less detail and is lighter, which makes it easier to read. A bezel with 24 divisions on the inside makes a full revolution every 24 hours. The new Geoscope also displays GMT time and the position of sun. The second time zone's time is shown by a secondary hour hand with an unusual fork-shaped tip. The indicator is not lumen-lit, which could be problematic in low light.

The caliber 07, which is manufactured in-house by Edox, is at the heart of this new watch. It is able to store enough power to keep it ticking for up to 42 hours. The Swiss-made mechanism has 21 jewels, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations an hour (4 Hz).
